Reservoir Leak Detection & Surveying

Keep Water Reservoirs in Top Condition with Lowflo’s Reservoir Leak Detection and Surveying Services

Specialist Reservoir Leak Detection & Surveying for Commercial & Industrial Environments

Choose Lowflo for your water reservoir and fire reservoir maintenance needs, including reservoir leak detection and surveying. Our engineers and dive crew members perform leak detection and surveying for water reservoirs here in Ireland and internationally, primarily for public entities such as Uisce Éireann. We work with all sorts of reservoirs, including water distribution, flood-control, conservation, and hydroelectric reservoirs.

Lowflo has been the trusted partner of public and private sector clients for commercial reservoir leak detection and surveying since 2006, and our valued clients choose us for our top-notch reliability, depth of experience, and our ability to successfully complete projects with minimal disruption to surrounding infrastructure and overall operations.

Our Approach to Reservoir Leak Detection & Surveying

Our Approach

Lowflo’s reservoir leak detection and surveying services are comprehensive and include various services designed to improve water quality, prevent water leakage, and to maintain environmental and regulatory compliance, safely and efficiently. Adhering to and in compliance with FM Global, NFPA & BS Standards.

Our engineers use visual and non-invasive, technically advanced non-destructive technique (NDT) equipment for reservoir surveys. Our reservoir leak detection work is carried out with professionally trained dive crews who can resolve underwater leakage and provide reservoir repairs, including in confined spaces. We also provide complete reservoir refurbishment, including all necessary surveys, reports, and assessments in compliance with relevant standards such as BS 8558, FM Global and NFPA.

Water and Fire Reservoir Leak Detection and Surveying Services

Lowflo provides a wide range of reservoir leak detection and surveying services to clients here in Ireland and internationally. Our services include:

Reservoir Leak Detection

Our dive crews are trained in confined space entry and will identify underwater leakage using food-grade fine particulate material to mark leaks. All decontamination protocols are followed by our skilled team members. Reservoir leak detection is commonly performed in tandem with repairs of any leaks identified.

Reservoir Surveying Services

Reservoir surveying consists of full visual and non-invasive inspections of the reservoir using advanced NDT technology. These surveys help to assess structural integrity and to eliminate deterioration of surfaces coming into contact with water.

Reservoir Repair

If leaks have been detected in your reservoir, our dive crew teams will descend to wherever leaks have been marked off and meticulously apply an epoxy compound to contain leak areas. Our team is capable of navigating around any structural pylons and is trained in cable management and confined space entry.

Reservoir Leak Detection & Surveying FAQs

Reservoir leak detection involves identifying and locating leaks on the surfaces or pipes and fittings within a reservoir. Leaks may occur in one or several locations in the reservoir, so dive crews and ROVs are needed to perform visual and non-invasive checks of the reservoir and to perform inspections, marking off any leak locations for further remediation.

A reservoir survey is essential because it assesses the actual condition of a reservoir, including its structural safety, storage capacity, contamination, or the presence of leaks from corrosion or damage. Moreover, they help to ensure that reservoirs adhere to Irish regulations and comply with environmental standards and FM Global, NFPA & BS Standards.

Reservoir leaks are detected through a combination of visual and non-invasive inspections of the reservoir’s surface, pipes, and fittings. Lowflo uses NDT and ROV inspection techniques to identify and mark any located leak areas, allowing for follow-up reservoir repairs.

Yes, reservoir leaks can often be repaired, especially if the leaks have been identified early and addressed with minimal delay. Engineers repair reservoir surfaces using epoxy compounds which contain leaks and seal them, consequently improving drainage and water quality.
