Leaks in swimming pool structures and their associated pipework can be insidious, slowly increasing your water, heating, and chemical bills while also damaging the surrounding structure. Through a combination of acoustic and trace gas technologies, our team uncovers leaks in swimming pools.
Our technicians are trained and outfitted with equipment that allow them to simply listen for the hissing and rumbling noise that leaks make within the pipe network and surrounding flooring. This method can accurately detect the location of a leaks down to the very small area.
We install noise sense devices on either side of the leak which transmit acoustic signals to each other which is then correlated and used to identify the exact position of the leak. This type of technology can be very precise for leaks in particularly metallic pipes.
This method involves pressurising the system with an inert non-toxic gas that will escape through the leak and rise to the floor surface to be traced using a “sniffer probe”. Traditionally, plumbers would simply explore and dig numerous holes until water is located. Lowflo’s Tracer Gas method removes all the doubt and delivers more accurate results.
Pressure testing in different sections of a water system allows for slow or minor leaks to be more easily identified. This method is also often used after leak repairs in order to ensure that the system is now leak-free.
CCTV and endoscopic cameras are inserted into the water systems to find leaks. These cameras have their own light source, which allows them to provide clear imaging in small and hard-to-reach places inside water systems. This method allows us to locate and diagnose issues with minimum disruption. In addition, our system also has a built-in acoustic sensor that can hear the leak from inside the network.
By injecting fluorescent dye into piping systems in pools, drains or water pipes, leaks can be located and a remedy put in place to rectify the issue. Fluorescent dyes do not dissolve in water, which ensures accurate surveying and results and also environmentally friendly to use.
